How to create a blueprint

Blueprints are created from application instance designs, either draft designs or designs with all VMs running.

To create a blueprint:

1     On the Applications page, open the instance based on which you want to create blueprint.

2     (Optional) On the design tab for that instance, edit the design as required.

3      Click Save as Blueprint.  The Taking Snapshot dialog box is displayed.

4      To take a snapshot without shutting down the VM, select No Shutdown,

         OR

To shut down the VMs before taking the snapshot,  select Shutdown.
The VMs will be restarted after the snapshot.

5      Click OK.  The Save as Blueprint dialog box is displayed.

6      Enter a name for the blueprint and click OK.  The blueprint is added to the Blueprints library.

Note: The blueprint capture process might take a few minutes.

Note: If you don't have the right permissions, this option won't be available in the UI and you will need to request from the Organization Admin to grant you the right permissions.
